Last fall, I scoffed at the bootie trend. I gave excuses for why I couldn't rock booties myself. Cue the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale--during which I finally came over to the bootie side. I think it took a year of seeing booties on other fabulous ladies before I got comfortable with trying them myself. I picked out these Tory Burch beauties to test the bootie waters and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The pretty outfits above are definitely inspiring my future bootie ensembles.
After prancing around my apartment in my own booties, I think I learned the key to wearing them: confidence. Being unafraid to try them when you'd normally where pumps is essential. I'm already envisioning them with some cute skinny jeans or great leggings. Booties are a step out of my comfort zone, but I know they'll be one step I won't regret. Thankfully, these ladies will make it easier for me to add booties into my late summer + early fall rotation. Do you own booties? If so, what's your favorite way to wear them? xoxo {av}
P.S. If you haven't taken the bootie plunge, here are a few ideas for you!
I always have a hard time finding booties because I have thin ankles, but some of these ladies can pull them off regardless! The key is skinny-leg pants or skirts
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ankle boot inspiration! I use my short boots a lot more often than my long boots :)

I never thought I could pull of ankle booties until I went to school in London and all the girls in my classes were rocking them. Now I hardly ever take them off! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post! I felt the same way, totally assumed they were awesome for everyone else but that I was not even close to cool enough to pull them off. Haha. But these images were helpful. I love they way they look with cuffed denim and tights under dresses. Now I'm on the prowl!
ReplyDeleteI am also afraid of Booties! I feel ya, but I love these looks. This is so cute and simple. Can't wait to go out and shop around :)

I bit the bootie bullet myself and bought a pair this spring! I love em with some ankle skinnies rolled up to just the right point in the ankle to graze the top of the bootie.

I was always so against the booties - but they started to grow on me recently. I just got a pair a few weeks ago & I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel amazing in them. :) Confidence is definitely the key! They are also kinda out of my comfort zone - but I really like that about them.
ReplyDeletei got a pair of tan wedge ones last year. i think i wore them almost every day last fall and winter.
ReplyDeleteI love them with skirts! I worry that I can't pull them off with pants so I stick to skirts. Love the collage though!
ReplyDeleteI don't own any booties with heels...but the suede-esque flat booties I purchased in London definitely need to be worn with confidence -- especially when I pair them with shorts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiring me to go out and buy a pair with heels!

I got a pair of booties for Christmas last year and I NEVER wore heels much before, but now I have 4 pairs of booties! I love just dressing up a pair of jeans with them!
