Hello again! I hope y'all had a great long weekend :) I have always been a bit leery of sporting super dark nails--but not because I don't love the way they look. I am a "quick-nicker" {aka I only get about a day's worth of wear before I somehow nick my nail polish}. The gel + shellac route is great...until it's time to take it off. Oy! Suffice it to say, I'd still really love to tackle the wine-colored nail trend this fall.
Here were ten of my favorite shades in my weekend research...
Here were ten of my favorite shades in my weekend research...
first row: Le Métier de Béaute Kona + Deborah Lippmann Just Walk Away Renee
second row: Essie Up's + M.A.C Underfire Red
third row: Deborah Lippmann Lady is a Tramp + Dior Massai Red
fourth row: NARS Jungle Red + Lancôme Madame Tulipe
fifth row: OPI Got the Blues for Red + Essie Skirting the Issue
Now I'm dreaming of a big glass of pinot noir at 7:30am. If I could just decide on a color,
I could wear my wine--regardless of the hour ;)
I pick my nail polishes mainly based on their names, and these wine polishes have some amazing names! Must try!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the titles you come up with for your posts and collages! For me, I ordered a fairly dark green color from the essie fall 2012 collection when Ulta was doing 20% off. I'm not much of a non-traditionalist with nail colors. I'll do dark purples, pinks, reds, etc, but I haven't been able to really get on board with blues, greens, etc. I want to be able to wear the green without feeling like I'm joining the army or heading back to middle school (that's who I always think of when I see non-traditional nail colors).
ReplyDeleteToo funny ... I just put this color on my nails Friday. I was originally thinking a brighter shade but when I laid eyes on a beautiful shade of wine I couldn't resist!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh yessss that color is gorgeous. I want some on my lips as well!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love those colors! I have several old polishes that are darker red, almost black. They're so amazing though. I think I need to try a dark green or blue this year.

Love those colors- I'm wearing Angora Cardi by Essie on my nails right now and I love it so much! It's definitely the perfect color for fall.

Great graphic! This has always been a go to color for me for fall. I must try some of the Deborah Lippmann polish...
ReplyDeleteI love this shade- it's a more fancy version of your typical red, which is great for fall and winter!
ReplyDeleteIf you have 1 million unapproved comments from me, I'm sorry! The comment form keeps eating my comments. Anyway, I love the essie and nars shades. This color is great for fall, and even though I'm a quick nicker too (usually too lazy to put polish on my fingers) I'm dying to try this color!

Oooh I'm the exact same way... so I've been opting for a french manicure in shellac... it last the longest - for me. I love these colors though and think they'd be so pretty for fall. Essie, OPI & NARS are my favorites :)
ReplyDeleteLove the top 2..very vampy!
ReplyDeleteLove this trend! I've been painting my nails dark for years so I'm glad I don't look so emo anymore. Just painted them with Lincoln Park After Dark last night. :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is definitely the most accessible way of wearing this trend. I too am a "quick-nicker"... I guess that is the sign of a busy and active life? Cheers with my imaginary glass of pinot at 1:40pm (so not much better)!
ReplyDeletewine-colored nails are something about fall that i pine for year-round. i love all your choices, but especially the top few.

ReplyDeleteI love pretty much all of them. And now I want wine too.
ReplyDeleteI just painted my nails Essie's "Recessionista" and it's a similar hue. I LOVE these bordeaux colors!
ReplyDeleteyes and yes! i love deep wine colors for fall :) xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteOooh, I just love this trend! Deep purple-y reds are my favorite. :-) I love that last Essie polish -- going to have to try that one! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis trend is always a favorite of mine! I love dark short nails :)
ReplyDeletelove this dark berry color for fall!! one of my faves for sure :) i also love dark gray. happy wednesday love!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteyes have this on my nails now and never want it to leave!!
ReplyDeleteBurgundy was my school color in high school and by the end of those four years, I was so sick of it that I swore it off forever. However, seeing it everywhere this fall has really made me rethink my (rash) decision. I already bought the Deborah Lippmann shade a few weeks ago, and I can't wait to use it!
