Happy Monday all! Can you believe it's August 13th?! {Neither can I.} As of late, we've been everywhere but home. All the travel has made for an exciting summer, so I'm not complaining. I simply cannot believe fall clothes are infiltrating the blogosphere and that I needed my duvet cover last night.
If I've learned one thing this summer, it's this: happiness shouldn't be dependent on the season. Sure, a long New England winter doesn't do a lot for my psyche, but the {big + small} developments happening behind the scenes in our household help me recognize I'm capable of happy without the thermometer.
For the first time {possibly ever}, I'm looking forward to the colder weather. I'm excited for bonfires and sweaters and hot chocolates. Until then, I'll enjoy the long summer nights--with dinners like these and weekends spent traveling to visit friends and family. We'll hole up when it gets cold again ;)
Looking forward to wearing tights!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you!!! I cannot wait for lighter sweaters/jackets! Basically clothes I haven't been able to wear because it's been so hot!

I will embrace summer til the very last day, but I do love pumpkin lattes. and apples. and hot soups. and sweaters. Ok well I guess I love fall too! I just can't believe how FAST this summer has gone!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. I've really started to love PA fall & winter. It doesn't seem like it, but it's a lot different than IN winter. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. I'm always looking forward to Fall so much that I miss out on enjoying the end of Summer. But then by February (or earlier), all I want are warmer temps and sunshine! It's so much better to just take in the moment and truly enjoy it instead of anticipating what will come next.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the colder months, but there are definitely reasons to celebrate all of them! Though a white-out snowstorm will always bring me the most joy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your autumnal style inspiration!
i used to be a die hard summer lover. and i still am for being tan and wearing dresses and lots of boat/fishing trips. BUT. as i get older, i have certainly come to appreciate the changing of the seasons and everything that comes with it.
ReplyDeleteThe quote is truly true! ;) come and check out my blog. maybe you're gonna like it ;) http://marschristie.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI'm trying not to get too overexcited about autumn because I always miss summer when it's gone - but I can never deny that it's my favorite season. I can't wait for riding boots, colorful cords, picking apples/baking pies, and New England hiking to peep the gorgeous leaves. Oh, and pumpkin...everything - lattes, cakes, cupcakes, bread, soup, pasta, beer - it makes everything better.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely a winter girl! I really can't stand hot weather, especially here in Alabama where it's always gross and muggy. it's just so much easier to warm up when you're cold than to cool down when it's too hot. plus winter clothes are just so cute!
ReplyDeleteAh, I love this quote! Fall is my favorite season by far! I'm looking forward to Friday night football games, seminar with my friends, riding boots, thick sweaters, jeans, pumpkin lattes, 60-70 degree weather...everything!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true! Every season has it's little bit of magic. Crazy that fall fashion and Halloween DIYs are all over the place already, but I'm kind of getting excited for fall! Until then however, we must desperately try to soak up any possible beach day, right? :)
