pretty pretty.

Hello, hello! I noticed a sweet trend on my pinterest lately--a number of colorful popsicles! I don't profess to be the best cook {I'm working on it!}, but I love to bake. Regardless, I've decided I must tackle the perfect popsicle this summer. Not only do they look gorgeous, they would be a definite party pleaser...

Here's my question: I know there are legit popsicle makers, but do I really need one of those? Or can I accomplish it with more rudimentary tools like Dixie cups? I want to have pretty pretty popsicles, like the ones in the photos above, without screwing it up ten times to perfect the art ;) Any advice would be very much appreciated, friends. I trust you all for this advice!

Per usual on Thursdays, I am beyond excited for tomorrow's Friday's Fancies. I hope you have your outfits ready for this weekend's festivities, be it a Cinco de Mayo celebration or the Kentucky Derby! If you want to join in, click here to read all about it.

P.S. If you haven't registered for my second Blogger Blitz DC, hop on it--the guest list is just shy of half full in only 24 hours! So excited to see so many wonderful ladies already on the guest list :)

  1. I think you can get the job done with dixie cups, but they would look fancier in those popsicle molds. My question is where in the heck do you find popsicle molds? They are the most elusive things to find at the store. Maybe I'll have to order some online. But yes, Pinterest has some of THE best looking popsicles ever dreamed up :)

  2. It has been many moons since my mom tried to make popsicles from scratch...I think she had a kit. I have not attempted it myself yet, but I would try with out a kit first and if I can't figure it out, then I would resort to getting a kit. I like the idea of the mini pops in the shot glasses?! How does that work?!

  4. You can use a mold, they're very inexpensive I bet you can find one at crate and barrel. That's what we've always used and it's always worked out great!

  5. i didn't even know there were popsicle molds (minus those $4 plastic sets that you would get as kids from bed bath & beyond that you poured juice into and froze...) I would use dixie cups! Then again, those pops in what looks to be shot glass look adorable!

  11. I love popsicles in the summertime! I'm sure they're pretty easy to make & buying the fancy popsicle makers aren't necessary - The top photo looks like they might have used a Dixie cup - & look how cute it turned out :)

  14. I love popsicles! These look amazing. I have a popsicle maker, but you can use anything - muffin pan, ice cube tray, cups...all you really need is a popsicle stick! One great pop is plain or vanilla Greek yogurt and fresh berries.

  23. I keep hearing great things about the Zoku popsicle maker (http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/zoku-quick-pop-maker/). I saw one in TJMaxx a while back and am kicking myself for not getting it! I've been craving coconut popsicles but all the ones I've tried from the store have been gross.
