Happy Monday, everyone! Though today's weather feels more like March, this weekend most certainly looked like winter. I snapped a few photos on Instagram to capture a few cozy days at our little apartment. {I'm also linking this post up with Ashley at a {little} dash of ash!}
The snow stopped us from journeying up to Maine as planned--and though it was a big bummer, a true quiet weekend at home was just what {cv} and I needed. I finally tackled a closet which had been on my to-do list for months...super exciting right?! It did allow for a fun walk down memory lane. We also squeezed in two movies, which had been on my list for ages: Midnight in Paris and Friends with Benefits.
Two other moments I captured over the weekend involved some wine and a mani. {cv} and I shared a bottle from our Napa adventures last year, which was as good at home as it was at the vineyard. {Mr. Pinky really wanted a taste too!} I also painted my nails for the first time in forever. I generally hate chippage {is that a word!?}, so I tend to leave my nails bare. This was my first foray into a dual colored mani, using Essie Chinchilly with a touch of Butter Diamond Geezer. I took the photo before I had done all the necessary touch-ups, but they turned out better than I hoped.
After this unexpected yet lovely weekend at home, it had me dreaming of just a few more snow days to tackle another closet--or watch another movie on my list. It begs the question:
That seems like a great way to spend an unexpected day at home! I love days like that! I always feel like I get so much done and I have time to relax! :)
ReplyDeleteI painted my nails similarly! I did grey and a pop of purple! I love it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were able to be productive despite the snow! I took the opportunity to bum around inside most of the weekend :)
ReplyDeleteCute nails! Sounds a lot like our weekend-- wine, movies, and organizing. What did you think of FWB? B and I liked it!
ReplyDeleteWhile I generally dislike the snow, I like the time in it affords me. I cleaned, watched a lot of football, and cooked up a storm. Chili of course for the big game!
ReplyDeleteI love a good reason to stay inside and tackling your much needed yet dreadful chores. We had a snowy weekend in NYC which was great... except I cleaned my closets out at the new year and my Salvation Army pick up was canceled. UGH!
ReplyDeleteLove, love that butter London polish.
Stay warm!
xo.

i love being holed up at home in this weather! looks like you had the perfect wine + manni night! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your snow! The ice we got in Cincinnati was miserable!
ReplyDeleteLove the nail colors :)
I had a wine and mani night too the other night. It was perfect and quiet!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I have been trying to save money, so we have been having lots of "in-weekends".....and they're quickly becoming my favorite ones! Drink some wine or beer, catch up on our gazillion TV shows, watch movies, cook....it is soooo nice.
ReplyDeleteAnd Chinchilly is my favorite cold-weather nail color!! I have it on currently (and often throughout the fall and winter).
Love your manicure! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWe finally got some snow in MN this weekend too. I'm following you on Instagram now!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so nice to cozy up at home! I had a pretty busy weekend but definitely enjoyed it when I was able to sit down and have a glass of wine Sunday night!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend! We watched Midnight in Paris this weekend too. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE those purple shades of nailpolish! Sorry to hear about the cancelation of your trip to Maine. Have you ever been? It's beautiful up there.
ReplyDeletexo,
ashlee
I definitely paint my nails, read some of a good book and watch movies. We play a board game or two sometimes as well! Sounds like you spent your weekend nicely :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I was able to look at your blog and I love it! xo, Andrea www.simply-designgirl.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI've basically been hibernating for the past couple of months! It's chilly in the UK, and I'm a Southern California girl, so that makes it even worse! Generally, there's a bit of blogging, a bit of skyping, and a lotta baking! Glad to hear you guys had such a relaxing weekend!:)
ReplyDeleteDual colors look fantastic! You are so adventurous, I just stick with boring pinks. Thanks for the sweet thoughts last Thursday, looks like being snowed in was lovely. What an optimist you are =)

I'm sure missing out on Maine was disappointing, but sometimes there's nothing better than a quiet weekend! I'm all about reading, bubble baths and yoga in the living room when I get the chance!
ReplyDeleteAw, that's too bad about Maine! And I love your manicure!
ReplyDeleteI had a cozy weekend too & I just painted my nails the same way before I even read your post! I guess you, me, and The Urban Slant are on the same page!

Sorry your trip got cancelled, but sounds like you two had a fun, cozy weekend! I would probably be cleaning out my closet on a snowy day too, so I can relate.

ReplyDeletep.s. thanks for visiting my blog! this is such a lovely idea and inspires me to work a little harder in keeping my own long distance relationship alive and well :)
Oh man, slightly jealous! We've had the mildest winter this year. I would love a snow day for a good excuse to do nothing and snuggle with my hubs, watch movies, read a book, drink wine and bake delicious goodies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by - so glad it led me to yours!
