Happy Monday, everyone! We had a cozy weekend here in Rhode Island, with a fun little side trip you'll see below. I took some instagram shots to capture some of the goodness from our weekend. Since I'm loving this app so much, I'm linking up with Ashley at a {little} dash of ash for her instragam Mondays!
The biggest news from last week?! On Thursday, my new MacBook Pro arrived! On Friday, I managed to get it all set up and ready to go. I can now do design work from the couch, rather than the den. In doing so, I can spend more time with {cv}, which is always a win-win. Until Thursday, I had a dinosaur MacBook and had to do all my design work from our Mac desktop...so this is a HUGE upgrade in my book. This post is the first from the new MBP, which means it really is the start of a new era ;)
I do like to try and get all the blog goodness out of the way before he gets home, but sometimes it's inevitable. Especially when I can only pay attention to the first fifteen minutes of a football game...Mr. Pinky loves the new MacBook Pro too! I found him sitting there on Friday night, after we got home from seeing 50/50, which prompted quite a few laughs, though there was a fair share of crying involved too, I must admit.
On Saturday, I was thrilled to be at home to join in the first blog brunch! It was an hour of thoughtful conversation over twitter--where I got to meet a ton of fabulous bloggers and learned a boatload of wonderful ideas, which I'll share over the weeks to come. You should really consider joining in the next one if you can! It's an easy way to ask questions of bloggers who all want to share! After the blog brunch, we got a bit done around the apartment before heading south to Connecticut...where our weekend included a little celebration for my sister-in-law's 25th birthday at Mohegan Sun!
We had a fabulous dinner at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, where they treated {kv} to that killer piece of chocolate cake. {cv} helped teach his sister the joys of roulette and I put in $10 in the slot machine, which turned into almost $80...so I was happy! {cv}'s grandmother, who passed this summer, loved the slot machines, so I think her luck was on my side ;) I'm so glad we were able to help kick off her 25th celebration!
How did you "celebrate" this weekend?
Be it a simple dinner at home or a fun tailgate, I think we all have {big or small} things
to be joyful about from the weekend. I can't wait to hear how you spent it!
Many thanks to all of you who linked up for Friday's Fancies--I couldn't believe
all the beautiful boots that you ladies found! If you would like to join in the fun {and get
the heads-up on the theme!}, it's simple: just email me and I'll add you to the list :)
Have a very happy Monday and I'll see y'all tomorrow! xoxo {av}
P.S. I'm rolling out a fun new feature of Friday's Fancies soon: be sure you're a facebook fan of {long distance loving} so you can join in!

ReplyDeletewhat an adorable lil kittie!!
ReplyDelete:)
Lucky!! And oh my, we saw 50/50 as well and I wasn't prepared for the tears. We usually see movies based on reviews (not my idea) and this one had the best, so off we went. I anticipated the laughs because of the two lead actors, but the tears? Cried like a baby more than once!
ReplyDeleteHooray for a new Macbook Pro! And your kitten is absolutely adorable. Looks like it was a perfect weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds like a blast. The BF and I also saw 50/50 over the weekend- many laughs and tears (on my part). Between her roles in The Help and 50/50- Bryce Dallas Howard is quite a villaness. Other news from my weekend, I got hired for a part-time job at Coach. This is relevant to your blog post because I applied to this job with the sole purpose of saving up for my first Mac Book Pro- my ancient Thinkpad just isn't cutting it anymore.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday,

ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fabulous weekend! And that cake would definitely make any weekend better, BTW. Congrats on the new mac, getting mine changed my life. It annoys my husband that I am usually on it while we watch tv, but such is the life of a blogger, always 5 things at once!

Have a great week lovely lady :)
Reading this brought me back to New England, if only for a moment, w/your reference to Mohegan Sun :) I lived in CT for 3+ years from 2006-2009 (just minutes from Mohegan Sun), and just recently visited some friends there in August. Providence Place was my favorite place to shop, but I also loved heading up 95 to Coventry or West Warwick for some Cracker Barrel or Texas Roadhouse when I needed to get a little fill of the south :) New England started my love affair with Dunkin Donuts and scarves, haha!
