In honor of the "toast to the Oscars" blog crawl hosted by cornflake dreams, this
week's Friday's Fancies is centered around the red carpet highlight of the season...
the Academy Awards.
I know, at one time or another, we've all imagined our own walk down the red carpet.
In a dream world, this is how I would be styled for my 15 minutes of fame:

the Academy Awards.
I know, at one time or another, we've all imagined our own walk down the red carpet.
In a dream world, this is how I would be styled for my 15 minutes of fame:
{images are screenshots via the sites linked below} |
1) Fellow curly girl, Emmy Rossum, rocks a simple messy updo which works perfectly with the whimsy of the dress I chose.
2) I loved the rosy cheeks and the "done but not too done" look of the makeup Leighton Meester sported to her recent movie premiere. I adore the brightness in her eyes and the intensity of her eyeliner too!
3) If you haven't dreamed of wearing jewels worth more than most people's homes, I'd like to applaud you! Since I couldn't find many of the coveted Neil Lane ensembles online, I decided on these classing diamond drop earrings from Tiffany & Co--which contain over six carats of sparkly goodness. I also thought the drop would work well with the shoulders of this dress.
4) I tried on a few Monique Lhuillier wedding dresses and I could tell just by touching them how wonderful her workmanship is! This red gown from her Fall 2011 RTW is no exception...it literally swept me off my feet. I'm certain I won't be the only one to choose this gown because it's that fabulous, at least in my book ;) You can be the judge of that!
5) When picking my footwear, I knew I wanted to sport Brian Atwood or Christian Louboutin. These very riche strass platform shoes had me from the moment I first spied them...and who wouldn't feel like a princess in these masterpieces?
6) Not pictured: my arm candy for the evening, a dashing Mr. James Franco on his way into host the show. { shh...don't tell {cv} ;) }

You saw my inspiration yesterday. This look definitely evolved a lot over the week--
and hopefully reflects the classic style I {like to} think I have.
I'm ready to face the critics now ;) What do you think!?
{If you're not a red carpet kind of girl, you're more than welcome
to create a "normal" Friday's Fancies!}
Short on time today? Don't worry--we'll be dreaming here again next week!
Make sure you take a peek tomorrow at A Kapple A Day--
she's the next stop on the toast to the Oscars blog crawl!
Can't wait to see your Friday's Fancies creations!
A BIG thank you to those of you playing along this week :)
